The short version

The free PhotoFit scan runs entirely in your browser. Your photo is not uploaded, not stored on our servers, and not seen by us. The optional paid “AI Enhanced” upgrade is the one exception: it sends the photo to a vision model so it can estimate measurements more precisely, and that is described below.

1. Who we are

PhotoFit (“we”, “us”) operates photofit.dev, a free clothing size calculator and brand size chart library. You can reach us at hello@photofit.dev.

2. Your photo

Free scan. Pose detection (TensorFlow.js) runs inside your browser tab. The image is read from your device’s memory, converted into measurements, and discarded when you close or reload the tab. No image data is sent to PhotoFit’s servers.

AI Enhanced (optional, paid). If you buy the upgrade, the photo you selected is sent once to our server and forwarded to a third-party vision model provider (OpenRouter, model Qwen-VL) to estimate measurements. It is processed to return the result and is not written to a database by us. The provider processes the request under its own terms and data-processing terms. If you do not want the photo to leave your device, do not use the AI Enhanced upgrade — the free on-device scan does not require it.

We do not use your photo to train models, we do not sell it, and we do not use it for advertising.

3. Measurements and results

Your measurements exist in your browser’s session storage so the result page can show them. They are cleared when the tab is closed. We do not keep a profile of your body measurements.

4. Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. We receive a payment confirmation and a transaction identifier; we never see or store your card number. Stripe’s privacy policy applies to the payment details you give them.

5. Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are used and where visitors come from. It sets cookies (_ga, _ga_*) and collects a truncated IP address, device and browser information, and the pages you visit. We do not send your photo or your measurements to Google Analytics.

6. Affiliate links and advertising

Size chart pages contain Amazon affiliate links. When you click one, Amazon may set cookies and record the referral; we earn a commission on qualifying purchases at no extra cost to you. Amazon’s own privacy notice applies on amazon.com.

We do not currently show third-party display ads. If we add advertising (for example Google AdSense) in future, this policy will be updated first, and the ad provider may set cookies to personalise ads. You can opt out of personalised Google ads at adssettings.google.com.

7. Hosting and logs

The site is hosted on Vercel. Like most hosts, Vercel keeps short-lived access logs (IP address, user agent, requested URL) for security and abuse prevention.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or port the personal data we hold about you, to object to processing, or to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Because we do not store photos or measurements, most requests will concern analytics or payment records. Email hello@photofit.dev and we will respond within 30 days.

We do not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The service is intended for people aged 13 and over.

9. Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top. Material changes affecting how photos are handled will be announced on this page before they take effect.
